Hey, guys! I had no idea that Jasmin had dobbed me in on Dogear, let alone that you guys had read my post. I’m hugely flattered that you think what I have to say was worthwhile.

It really is my very strong opinion that enterprise apps should bring a little joy into the lives of their users. I’ve seen so many big apps deployed in business and government where usability is a low or nonexistent consideration. There absolutely needs to be access to all the bells and whistles, but at the same time, users should never be overwhelmed by an application and it should be relatively simple for them to identify and execute the core tasks they have to do with the app.

There are a bunch of factors in making enterprise software usable (or unusable), and you could explore them for weeks (and researching and executing on that is a part of my job). I’d love to talk with you more about it.

    Hi Stephen,

Glad you heard about the reference It is always great when we find such exciting posts / blogs and get to talk about them.

I absolutely agree with your comments on usability verses function blot!… Perhaps we can get you on the show some time.

    Michael
